"The use of encryption to protect data is now past the point of debate"
- Larry Ponemon.
Email encryption has become a vital component of any organisation's ability to communicate with business partners and customers. But simply adopting a one-size-fits-all approach and encrypting all data is a costly exercise. That's why Clearswift's SECURE Email Gateway offers a number of technologies capable of providing the best level of encryption based on message recipient needs.
By default, the SEG provides Forced and Opportunistic TLS permitting gateway to gateway encryption. There are also two cost option encryption packages that fulfill other encryption use-cases and support full policy based encryption, enabling encryption to be based on senders, recipients, message and attachment content. These include:
-
S/MIME, PGP and Password - permitting public key encryption, featuring key harvesting, OCSP and external key server support.
Password based methods supporting fixed password per recipient or strong automatically generated password, including Advanced Encryption System (AES) 256.
-
Web Portal Encryption - allows messages to be sent without encryption keys; recipients can receive and respond to encrypted content without needing to install any software on their machine or device.
