Clearswift has made setting policies for the most popular social media sites easy, with four specific social networking policy routes for Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. This function allows different departmental policies to be set and each route comes with pre-populated content rules to allow policies to be defined based on the website's capabilities.
In addition to site-specific content rules, each route can include a number of generic rules to detect and, optionally, stop selected content as part of the acceptable usage policy. These can help to protect users and the organisation from in-and -outbound threats and include:

In addition to the above content controls, time schedules can be applied to specific websites or categories, allowing full management of user access. Individual users can be allocated time quotas for maximum policy flexibility. Acceptable-use intercept pages can be displayed to remind users that web activities are monitored and subject to policy.
